Know Mountain Eagle Synthetic's Leader
Mountain Eagle Synthetics was built on decades of hands‑on experience, real‑world testing, and a commitment to using only the highest‑quality lubricants. The journey began in 2000, when our leader, Frank Mottola, was first introduced to AMSOIL while working in a mechanical shop. After seeing the product’s performance firsthand, he briefly experimented with switching to another well‑known brand—only to experience an immediate drop in fuel mileage and noticeably higher engine temperatures. That comparison made one thing clear: AMSOIL simply performed better.
In 2005, while serving with his local fire department, he dug deeper. Researching the lubricants recommended for fire truck engines—vehicles that demand absolute reliability—he discovered that manufacturers consistently recommended AMSOIL products across the board. That confirmation reinforced what he had already seen in his own vehicles: AMSOIL delivers unmatched protection and efficiency.
From 2011 to 2018, he operated as a sole proprietor, helping customers choose the right AMSOIL products for their engines, equipment, and lifestyles. In 2018, he expanded the vision and officially incorporated as an S‑Corporation, establishing Mountain Eagle Enterprises. Today, the company continues to provide trusted AMSOIL products backed by real experience, technical understanding, and a genuine commitment to helping customers get the most out of their vehicles and equipment.

As a jet fighter squadron commander, Lieutenant Colonel Albert J. Amatuzio had ample opportunity to witness synthetic lubricants in action. These oils are used exclusively in jet engines because of three extraordinary performance characteristics: an ability to reduce friction and wear on engine components, an ability to function dependably at severe temperature extremes and an ability to withstand rigorous and lengthy engine operation without chemical breakdown.
Recognizing these same benefits would prove invaluable in combustion engines, Amatuzio began conducting serious research in the early 1960s. He soon developed and sold commercially available synthetic oils under a variety of names. The true milestone came in 1972 when AMSOIL became the first synthetic motor oil in the world to meet American Petroleum Institute service requirements. It set all-new standards for motor oil quality and outperformed conventional petroleum motor oils on all counts. It was clear from the start this innovative product would play a major role in redefining the performance capabilities of modern machinery and engines.
